BC wins Team Academic Award
Bergen Catholic varsity soccer
team is a NSCAA Team Academic Award Honoree for the 2013-2014
school year. This is the program's 5th consecutive year (2010,
2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014).
BC is one of 135 (boys) schools, in the United
States, to receive the award. To qualify, the team must average
a 3.25 GPA. The 2013 team ended the school year with 3.69
GPA. The Crusaders are one of only 8 boys high schools in
New Jersey honored this year.
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and
high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom,
in addition to their work on the field.
A total of 329 soccer teams (135 boys, 194
girls) from throughout the United States have earned the Team
Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom
as a team during the 2013-14 academic year.
To qualify for the award, the high school
team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the
entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding
every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
*Note: This award runs one school year
behind. This season's (2014-15) will be announced November
