High School Team Academic Award
ORADELL, NJ - Bergen Catholic HS varsity soccer
team will receive the Team Academic Award for 2012-2013 school
BC is one of 141 (boys) schools, in the United States, to
receive the award. To qualify, the team must average a 3.25
GPA. The 2012 team ended the school year with 3.54 GPA. This
is the program’s fourth in a row (2010, 2011, 2012 and
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and
high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom,
in addition to their work on the field.
A total of 358 soccer teams (141 boys, 217
girls) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA
Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom
as a team during the 2012-13 academic year. Among these programs
are 57 schools receiving honors for both their boys and girls
To qualify for the award, the high school team must have a
minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic
year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's
GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
*Note: This award runs one school year behind. This season's
(2013-14) will be announced next November.

BC Ends Season in State

SOUTH ORANGE---Bergen Catholic ended its season
on Tuesday afternoon, falling to top-seeded Seton Hall Prep
3-1 in the North Non-Public A semifinals at Seton Hall University.
The Crusaders end one of its most successful
seasons in program history, going (14-4-1) overall, and won
a share of their first league title since 2009, and their
first ever Big North United Division Championship.

RAMSEY---Bergen Catholic claimed their second
straight 1-0 decision against Don Bosco Prep, this time coming
in the quarterfinals of the North Non-Public A State Tournament
on Friday afternoon in Ramsey, as the Crusaders now advance
to the state semifinal round.
Erick Alonso notched the game's lone goal
off an assist from Kevin Ayaz. Mike Payan made 3 saves to
record BC's 10th shutout of the season.
The Crusaders (14-3-1) will next face top-seeded
Seton Hall Prep on Tuesday afternoon at Seton Hall University
at 4 pm in the semifinal round.
BC Wins First League Title

MONTVALE---Bergen Catholic claimed a share
of their first league title since 2009 by defeating St. Joseph
Regional 4-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Crusaders (13-3-1)
jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first half of action
and cruised to their sixth divisional win of the season.
BC with begin the postseason on Friday November
8th when they travel to Ramsey to face #4 seed Don Bosco Prep
in the quarterfinals of the North Non-Public A State Playoffs.
