'14, named to NSCAA Boys High School Scholar All-America Team
A senior captain who led the team to 14-4-1
record, scoring 4 goals and a team high 10 assists. Justin
received 1st Team All-League, 2nd Team All-County and All-State
honors. This coming fall, he will be attending and playing
at Bates College in Maine.

Crusaders Earn County
ORADELL---Four members of the Bergen Catholic soccer team
were named to the 2013 All-County team thanks to their strong
seasons for the Crusader program.
Erick Alonso was named 1st Team All-County for the second
consecutive season as the team's leading goal scorer. Alonso
becomes the first Crusader to earn back-to-back 1st Team All-County
honors since Randi Patterson in 2000 & 2001.
Justin Yacovino was named 2nd Team All-County after leading
BC in assists with 10 on the season.
Cameron Zamanian and Richard Finizio were each named Third
Team All-County and both were instrumental in helping lead
a BC defense which allowed only 13 total goals this fall,
a new school record.

High School Team Academic Award
ORADELL, NJ - Bergen Catholic HS varsity soccer
team will receive the Team Academic Award for 2012-2013 school
BC is one of 141 (boys) schools, in the United States, to
receive the award. To qualify, the team must average a 3.25
GPA. The 2012 team ended the school year with 3.54 GPA. This
is the program’s fourth in a row (2010, 2011, 2012 and
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and
high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom,
in addition to their work on the field.
A total of 358 soccer teams (141 boys, 217
girls) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA
Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom
as a team during the 2012-13 academic year. Among these programs
are 57 schools receiving honors for both their boys and girls
To qualify for the award, the high school team must have a
minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic
year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's
GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
*Note: This award runs one school year behind. This season's
(2013-14) will be announced next November.
BC Wins First League Title

MONTVALE---Bergen Catholic claimed a share
of their first league title since 2009 by defeating St. Joseph
Regional 4-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Crusaders (13-3-1)
jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first half of action
and cruised to their sixth divisional win of the season.
BC with begin the postseason on Friday November
8th when they travel to Ramsey to face #4 seed Don Bosco Prep
in the quarterfinals of the North Non-Public A State Playoffs.
